Week of December 14, 2009.

As we enter the final week before the holiday break, we’ll work on the final chapter of our unit on the effects of chemicals on the body and brain.

We’ll conduct a notebook check which includes the following:

• Chapter 11 Keyterms (p.279) and Review Questions (p. 280, #3-20)
• Chapter 12 Keyterms (p.309) and Review Questions (p. 310, #3-24)

Have a great holiday and prepare yourself for the remaining three weeks of the semester upon your return!

Week of December 7, 2009.

We conclude the series of guest speakers from East Valley through Wednesday.

Thursday and Friday will be dedicated to completing all make-up work through Chapter 10.  Deficiency (D/F’s) grades will be reported on Friday to those students not performing up to speed in the class.

All students are required to bring their textbooks to class on Thursday (December 10th).

Week of November 30, 2009.

I hope the Thanksgiving holiday was safe for all of you and your families and that you’re ready to tackle the next few weeks before we go on holiday for Christmas and New Years!

This week, we have guest speakers visiting our class from the East Valley Community Health Center here in Pomona.  A handout was given to your son/daughter two weeks ago outlining their presentations on personal responsibilities, refusal skills, STD/HIV prevention and contraceptive methods.

This is a short week because of our Thanksgiving break.  Today and tomorrow we’re working on an anti-drug/tobacco/alcohol poster in groups.  This will be turned in by the end of the period on Tuesday.
